Save Money
Your BioSmart® Far Infrared Heater will save up to 50% on your current energy bill. The BioSmart® Far Infrared Heater will heat up to 1000 square feet for around $1.20 per day (based on an 8-hour period, using the national average of 10 cents per kw/hr).
Tips for Best Performance
Your BioSmart® Far Infrared Heater will save you a whole lot of money, and it’s easy to operate and maintain. Operating at maximum performance, your BioSmart® Far Infrared Heater can save you even more cash.
Here are some easy to follow recommendations to get the most out of your infrared heater (and put more money back in your pocket!):
- Locate the infrared heater in an area with a room with low airflow. The infrared heat will be better contained in a room that does not have a high air exchange rate.
- Place the infrared heater near a warmer inside wall and direct the output toward a cooler outside wall. The cooler outside wall will tend to draw the generated heat towards it, which will allow for more efficient heating throughout the room.
- Placing the infrared heater next to a cold air return will draw the heat away from the area to be heated. Try closing or covering the cold air return. This will allow for more efficient heating. Experiment with the placement of the heater to see what works best for you.
- Set the heater about 4 degrees below your desired comfort level. With the BioSmart Far Infrared heater, a temperature of 68 °F feels as though it were 72 °F. This is due to the superior penetrating power of the Far Infrared waves you actually feel warmer than the surrounding ambient air temperature.
- When the BioSmart® Far Infrared Heater is placed in an isolated area, i.e. basement or recreation area, any existing HVAC heating system vents should be closed in that area, if possible. This allows the heater to maintain the isolated area more efficiently.
- When heating a room with bare concrete, place the BioSmart® Far Infrared Heater a few feet above the floor (make sure the heater is secure and won’t fall!). This will allow for more efficient heating since concrete acts as a heat sink and will tend to draw the heat out of the room.
- If possible, concrete floors should be covered to provide some insulation factor from the concrete.
- Set your central heating system to a lower temperature. Place the BioSmart® Far Infrared Heater in the area you spend the most of your time. Now set the heater to your comfort level. There is no point in heating multiple rooms to 68+ degrees Fahrenheit when not in use.
- Maintain a Minimum of 30% Humidity – 35-40% Relative humidity is ideal for maximum heating efficiency.
- Clean the Filter – Checking the filter once a week and cleaning the filter at least once a month will allow maximum airflow through the heater.
